About us

Planting Shade Virginia Beach was the first Planting Shade chapter. Starting in 2018, Planting Shade Virginia Beach is responsible for the planting of over 4,600 trees Planting Shade Virginia Beach has made the biggest impact. The chapter has planted across the Hampton Roads Area. Planting Shade Virginia Beach has worked with the city of Virginia Beach, Old Dominion University, and numerous parks across the Hampton Roads.

Randall Nied, President

Randall is a 10th grader at Cape Henry Collegiate. He cares about the environment and has initiated plantings and educational series with middle schoolers for elementary students. He assists the team in the annual Neptune Festival fundraisers. Randall loves reading, science and theater and is an active Boy Scout.
