The Knoxville chapter of Planting Shade was started in early 2023, and plans to plant 1000 trees by the end of 2024. During this time, they also hope to educate local youth about the environment, cultivating the next generation of naturalists.
Boyu Tan, Chapter President
Boyu founded this chapter with his brother to help protect the diverse native habitats of the Tennessee valley by planting trees and raising awareness through education. Once Boyu graduates, his brother will take over as president and continue their mission for years to come.
