What is Planting Shade?

Planting Shade is a student-led 501(c)(3) non-profit with the goal of improving the environment through forestation. Starting out in Virginia Beach with the ambitious goal of planting 1000 trees, Planting Shade's growth has vastly exceeded the founders initial expectations. Year to date, Planting Shade has planted over 12,000 trees globally and plans on planting thousands more. Planting Shade currently has 10 chapters across the United States and has planted trees in 3 countries (United States, Costa Rica, and Israel).
