Evan is an 11th grade student at the Entrepreneurship and Business Academy at Kempsville High School. Concerned about the flooding in Hampton Roads after a number of storms in the last few years, Evan started researching small ways he could make a difference. Planting trees seemed to make the most sense and he began his nonprofit ventures thus forth. Evan also serves as the President of the Sophomore Class of Kempsville High School, Vice President of Marketing for DECA, President of the Film Club, and plays varsity Tennis.
Lucia Morton manages the Virginia Beach Chapter and is a Sophomore at the Entrepreneurship and Business Academy. She adores exploration and discovery whether it’s through school, travel, or personal projects. She is constantly taking in the world around her by staying active and engaged. From practicing mindful consumer habits to giving back to the planet, she hopes to lead her community towards more sustainable living.
Alexandra is a Junior at The Collegiate School in Richmond, Virginia. Alexandra loves helping to better her Richmond community through avid fundraising and volunteer efforts. She is a two sport varsity athlete, recipient of the Team Member of the Year award by the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and in charge of Jewish education in her local youth group chapter.
Eliot is a Junior at Douglas S. Freeman in Richmond, Virginia. He his dedicated to plant as many trees as possible across the globe. Eliot is natural born leader being an honor role student, member of the Varsity track team, and vice president of his local Jewish youth group.
Aliya is a Senior at Raleigh Charter High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. She is interested in environmental issues and activism and seeks to better the environment for her community through Planting Shade. Aliya is the Co-President of the Environment Action Club at her school, and the Media lead of the Sunrise Movement Raleigh Hub. She is also the founder and co-president of the Tiny Desk Music Club and enjoys doing art in her free time.
Emery is a Senior at Raleigh Charter High School in Raleigh, North Carolina. Emery is passionate about environmental activism and seeks to make a change in her community. Emery is the founder and co-president of Environmental Action Club at her school, the political lead of the Raleigh Hub of the Sunrise Movement, and a two year all-conference player on the varsity soccer team.
